+A New Way to Sand Between Finish Coats
Using this patented design, you can smooth and prepare the floor's surface for the next coat of finish without risking swirl marks. For a smoother floor, the pad's foam backing permits it to rub on the surface without penetrating too deeply.
Features & Benefits:
- They have a long life expectancy (approximately 1500 sf/pad) and are highly durable and tear-resistant. The A/O grain bonded to the foam backing allows the pad to adequately abrade the finish while producing a fine scratch pattern. Contractors can get a great-looking finish without risking adhesion problems caused by improper abrasion.
- Resist loading, but can be easily cleaned by vacuuming off or rinsing with water and then reused. They are used just like a screen or maroon pad, using a white pad or maroon pad as a driver, and can be used on any kind of finish: oil, water, or acid cure, but they are not recommended for pre-finished floors. The cut-outs in the pad help with dust extraction and minimize loading.
- Traditional PSA strips can tear and curl under easily, which could leave adhesive residue on the finish. Also, if hook and loop strips are used, the paper can curl under, and the hooks can scratch the finish. With sand dollar pads, there is no guessing at how many strips to use, what grit to use, and how to place the strips on the pad.
In addition to being designed specifically for sports floors, the pad comes in three grits: coarse/blue is ideal for surface preparation before recoating, medium/red is ideal for coat-abrading oil-modified finishes, and fine/yellow is ideal for water-based finishes. Now, you can eliminate the risk of cutting through the finish on marking lines and logos so everyone can get on with the game.
